At Belmont Medical Skin Clinic, we’ve had the pleasure of working with a range of clients with different skin conditions recently. From brides-to-be to clients managing skin conditions like acne and hyperpigmentation, we’ve been helping many individuals achieve their skin goals. Here's a look at who we’ve been treating and how we’re helping them get healthier, glowing skin.
Bridal Skin Prep: Achieving Perfect Skin for Your Wedding Day
Wedding season is in full swing, and we’re busy working with brides, grooms, and wedding guests preparing for their special day.
Popular Treatments for Brides and Grooms:
- Hydrafacials: Deep cleansing, instant hydration, and radiant skin.
- SkinPen Microneedling: Reduces fine lines and evens skin texture.
- Chemical Peels: Improve skin tone and texture.
- Personalised Skincare: Customised routines to prepare your skin for the big day.
Wedding Skin Tips:
- Stress can trigger acne, redness, and skin irritation.
- Our treatments and expert advice can help reduce inflammation and maintain a clear, calm complexion.
Managing Skin Conditions: Skin Care for All Needs
We’ve also been working with clients managing a variety of skin conditions, providing expert, tailored treatments for long-term health and improvement. Recently, we have helped manage and improve the following conditions:
- Perioral Dermatitis: Red, bumpy rashes around the mouth, often mistaken for acne.
- Skin Allergies & Contact Dermatitis: Skin reactions to products, irritants and weakened gut health.
- Rosacea: Chronic redness and inflammation.
Our Approach to Manage These Conditions:
- Comprehensive Skin Consultations: We start by conducting a thorough consultation that includes a detailed look at your medical history, lifestyle factors, dietary habits, current skincare routine, and any prescribed medications. This helps us fully understand the root causes and triggers for your skin concerns.
- Calming Renewal Facials: These facials focus on strengthening and supporting the skin barrier, reducing sensitivities, and restoring balance to reactive skin.
- Antimicrobial Solutions: We use a gentle antimicrobial solution
- to help reduce inflammation and bacteria, promoting skin healing.
- Skin Repairing & Strengthening Skincare: We create a customised skincare plan, including products that nourish and rebuild the skin’s natural barrier.
- Red LED Light Therapy: This non-invasive therapy helps reduce redness and inflammation, encouraging skin recovery without irritation.
- Gentle Home Skincare & Advice: We provide recommendations for skin-friendly, calming and barrier-repairing products and dietary improvements.
What We Don’t Use:
- Hydrafacials, Microneedling, Peels etc: These treatments are avoided for clients with these skin conditions as they may trigger further irritation due to a compromised skin barrier.
By addressing these skin conditions with a holistic, gentle approach, we ensure that our clients receive the care and support their skin truly needs.
Tackling Pigmentation: Treatment for Even-Toned Skin
Pigmentation concerns are common, particularly among our Asian clients, and we’ve seen great results in helping reduce spots and even skin tone.
Common Causes of Pigmentation:
- Sun Exposure: UV rays stimulate melanin production, causing dark spots.
- Hormonal Changes: Conditions like melasma can trigger dark patches.
- Post-inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH): Dark spots left behind from acne, reactions and sensitivies.
How We Help Treat Pigmentation:
- Hydrafacials with Brightening Boosters: Targets dark spots while hydrating.
- Chemical Peels: Gently exfoliate to reduce pigmentation.
- SkinPen Microneedling: Stimulates collagen and reduces pigmentation.
- SPF Protection: Vital for preventing further pigmentation.
Acne Treatments: Tailored Solutions for Clearer Skin
Acne is one of the most common skin concerns we treat, and we’ve been helping clients with various types of acne, from hormonal to bacterial.
Acne Treatments We Offer:
- Hydrafacials with LED Light Therapy: Deeply cleansing and exfoliating treatment which targets acne-causing bacteria and soothes inflammation.
- Salicylic Acid Peels: Deeply cleanse pores and reduce breakouts.
- Microneedling: Helps to reduce scarring and improve skin texture.
- Personalised Skincare: We recommend gentle, acne-targeting skincare products.
Introducing Sensilis – Thoughtful Skincare for Sensitive Skin
We’re so excited to officially introduce Sensilis to our clinic — and even more thrilled to be the first to bring this beautiful brand to Northern Ireland and Ireland!
One of the many reasons we decided to bring the Sensilis range into the clinic is because we noticed some gaps in our existing product offering — and Sensilis fills them beautifully.
These products are specifically formulated for sensitive, reactive, and acne-prone skin, and they’re unlike anything else we already stock. Whether you're dealing with teenage breakouts, a compromised barrier, or you're simply looking for a beautifully formulated sunscreen, Sensilis has something that works with your skin — not against it.
✨ Why we love Sensilis:
- Ideal for teenage acne and hormonal breakouts
- Gentle and soothing for reactive or sensitised skin
- A range of lightweight, effective SPFs for every skin type
- Affordable without compromising on quality or results
And the best part? We have testers available in clinic — so you can see and feel the difference before committing. If you’ve been overwhelmed by too many product choices or afraid to try something new, Sensilis might just be the perfect place to start.
The Importance of a Consistent Skincare Routine: Don’t Change Products Too Often
Over the past few weeks, we’ve met quite a few clients struggling with sensitised, reactive skin. When we took a closer look at their routines, one thing kept coming up — they’d been chopping and changing their skincare far too often. It usually starts with a reaction to one product, and in a panic, they switch to something else... and then another. Before they know it, their skin’s in worse shape than before. A lot of the time, they’ve been following trends or taking advice from people who aren’t properly trained, and unfortunately, that can really backfire on what was once healthy skin.
Here’s why we always emphasise consistency in your skincare routine:
Why You Should Avoid Chopping & Changing Skincare:
- Reactions May Happen Quickly: New products can cause irritation within hours or days.
- Skin Takes Time to Adjust: It can take weeks to truly see whether a product is effective or causing issues. For example, acne breakouts can occur 6 weeks after using a new product that’s too rich or harsh for your skin!
- Avoid Overloading Your Skin: When you change multiple products at once, it’s difficult to work out which product is causing irritation.
Our Advice:
- Limit the amount of new products you introduce to your skin in each 3 month period - instead of completely overhauling your skin routine (unless you have been professionally assessed and have been advised that you’re completely using the wrong products for your skin concerns!).
- If irritation occurs, it’s better to reset your skin (such as stopping ‘active’ products that may be causing too much irritation etc) and allow it adequate time to recover before trying new products again.
Skin Barrier Health:
- Changing products too often can disrupt the skin’s natural barrier, leading to dryness, irritation, or even more breakouts.
- Sometimes, the best course of action is to stop and reset your skin, rather than continuing to experiment with different products.
